چکیده

Introduction It is unknown how often patients with electrodiagnostic evidence of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP), a potentially treatable condition, present distal symmetric polyneuropathy (DSP) phenotype. Methods We reviewed the records who presented to our laboratory between January 1, 2011 December 31, 2019 and fulfilled criteria for CIDP identify those sensory predominant DSP Results One hundred sixty-two had acquired neuropathy, whom 138 met typical or atypical CIDP. Nine these phenotype, among 6 were eventually diagnosed (DADS) 1 Polyneuropathy, Organomegaly, Endocrinopathy, Monoclonal protein, Skin changes (POEMS) syndrome 2 idiopathic DSP. The prevalence neuropathies all presenting phenotype was estimated be 0.34%. Discussion Patients meet rarely testing identifies in This article protected by copyright. All rights reserved.

Liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma in patients who do not meet the Milan criteria.

BACKGROUND To expand the Milan criteria, prognostic factors other than size and number of tumor may be necessary. We analyzed outcome and prognostic factors in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) exceeding Milan criteria to select favorable group of patients. METHODS Between November 1997 and December 2005, 104 cases of liver transplantation for patients with HCC were performed at ou...

Electrodiagnostic criteria for diagnosis of ALS.

A consensus meeting was held to determine the best use and interpretation of electrophysiological data in the diagnosis of ALS. The utility of needle EMG and nerve conduction studies was affirmed. It is recommended that electrophysiological evidence for chronic neurogenic change should be taken as equivalent to clinical information in the recognition of involvement of individual muscles in a li...

Diagnostic utility of somatosensory evoked potentials in chronic polyradiculopathy without electrodiagnostic signs of peripheral demyelination.

INTRODUCTION Diagnosis of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) remains uncertain when nerve conduction studies (NCS) fail to show demyelination. METHODS We conducted a retrospective study of patients who presented with clinical criteria of CIDP in whom electrodiagnostic (EDx) criteria of definite or probable CIDP were missing [axonal sensorimotor neuropathy (n = 23), norma...

Outcomes of partial nephrectomy in patients who meet percutaneous ablation criteria.

INTRODUCTION Treatment options for small renal masses include partial nephrectomy (PN), ablation and active surveillance. We sought to compare patients who met the criteria for percutaneous ablation but underwent robotic PN to the rest of our robotic PN cohort. This was done in order to detect any safety concerns and to define any risk factors that might contraindicate the use of robotic PN, an...

Comparison of electrodiagnostic abnormalities and criteria in a cohort of patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.

BACKGROUND Current electrodiagnostic criteria for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) are research oriented favoring specificity over sensitivity. Application of such criteria in clinical practice may miss the diagnosis in potentially treatable patients. OBJECTIVES To analyze the electrophysiologic abnormalities in a cohort of patients with clinically defined CIDP, to com...
